French Girl is a family-run company in Seattle Washington USA. Kristeen Griffin-Grimes (resident alchemist and dreamer) designs knitwear and writes knitting books when she is not stirring up the latest concoction for an expanding line of body care products created with certified organic botanical ingredients, or elbow deep in the natural tints of her hand-dyed luxury yarn. In addition to managing the French Girl Studio, Kristeen and her family, Philip, son Deva and daughter Rain lead annual tours in the Languedoc province of France. They introduce their clients to the the hidden gems of rural France: world-class cuisine and wines and a once-in-a-lifetime immersion into French daily culture. Their travels take them into the countryside of Languedoc, where nature is always an inspiration and has been the driving force in the creation of many of the new perfumed essences. Kristeen relates: "My first fragrance memory was the intermingled smell of sweet peas and bee pollen in my father's garden on the coast of Washington State. Ever since then I have been hypnotized by the sensory palette of the natural world and found inspiration in the many of the scents of the past. Ten years of travel in France with French Girl Tours was a "scent-ual" awaking of sorts, especially as the breezes of the Mediterranean swirled across the dry, wild herbs of the garrigue; mix in hints of North African spice and wine-deep notes from vineyards, and voila, I was immersed in a creative paradise!"
